Musha nobori were originally samurai flags. They are now used for festivals to inspire children with stories of strength and fearlessness. This one was hand painted with tsutsugaki, a paste resist dye technique. The rod pocket is a Kakishibu woven plaid, naturally dyed with fermented persimmons.
