Indigo Shibori textile creation

WORKSHOPS

Bi-annually, I host a three hour indigo shibori workshop where participants learn four basic techniques: Nui, Ne-maki, Miru , and Itajame. We create intricate resist dye patterns and dip our fabric into a vat of organic indigo to achieve the classic blue color in the creator’s original design. I discuss history, the science of natural dye, and provide demonstrations on pattern making with hands on assistance. Previously held at General Store Outer Sunset (SF), Tea at Shiloh (LA), The Sabah Hosue (SF), and Coyote Family Farms (Sonoma County).
